People undertake car upholstery projects for a variety of different reasons. Depending on the result they are trying to achieve, they will take very different approaches when restoring the vehicle.

If you are trying to add value to a car in order to make a quick sale, you will probably look for the fastest and least expensive way to add some value to the car so you can make a profit on the resale of the vehicle.

When someone who is lovingly restoring a car to its original state, they are usually willing to spend a lot of money to ensure they get the right look for the car. They will spend hours ensuring that all details are properly restored and authenticity always takes precedent. Their research may involve looking at old photographs or contacting the original manufacturers to get the specifications just right.

If you are just looking to make some cash, you are probably going to undertake some of the renovations yourself. You may add in new speakers, dashboard, carpet and perhaps the seat upholstery. You will be looking to make the car look nice but if seat covers are available they will do the job just nicely.

A car enthusiast would never dream of adding car seat covers to his baby. He would be horrified if you even suggested it. He is more likely to pay a custom auto interior specialist as he knows they have the skills and experience to do the job properly. If the original model had cream leather upholstery so will the model he is refurbishing.

A fully restored authentic automobile is worth a lot of money as there are so many avid collectors out there but I am guessing that if you go to all this trouble, you will probably hold onto the car yourself.
